It’s a warm welcome back to Philomena Liggins, a local social historian, a former tour guide at Bletchley Park, and an author and a speaker for her first talk of the year, to coincide with the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

Victory in Europe Day is the day celebrating the formal acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Germany’s unconditional surrender of its armed forces on Tuesday, 8 May 1945; it marked the official end of World War II in Europe in the Eastern Front, with the last known shots fired on 11 May.

Philomena will be signing copies of her books on the night, and will be donating 10% of all book sales to the Royal British Legion. We will also have representatives from the Royal British Legion present on the night selling the commemorative pin badge.
