Kettering Arts Centre is proud to present Comedians & Carols again this Christmas!
PAUL SAVAGE started performing comedy in 2007. Since then he has performed all over Britain, from the highlands of Scotland to the bottom tip of Cornwall, and hundreds of places in between. In 2013, he did a tour of English speaking venues in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. In the 9 years he’s been going, he has performed over 1500 gigs, including six runs at the Edinburgh Festival, starting with the the Free Tea and Biscuits Show, which set a record for having the most genuinely homeless people in one audience front row (7). He also performed his debut hour “Cheerful Shambles” in 2013 which was well received by audiences and critics and had no homeless people in (as far as he’s aware). Since then, he’s performed the critically acclaimed fringe shows “All The Jokes In The Bible” (2014) and “Tired and Emotional” (2015). He is also the co-wrote and starred in the profane blasphemous game show Hell to Play (2015) which returned to the Edinburgh fringe in 2016 with an all new script. It was not, despite his best efforts, called 2 Hell 2 Play.
DOMINIC WOODWARD’S act is packed full of jokes, gags, banter, stories and a bit of daft comedy magic that involves the audience and always takes the roof off. He also beats the world record for speed balloon modelling every show – it’s hilarious and a must-see! With almost 20 years experience on the UK circuit he’s a safe pair of hands. He’s cheeky, charming, full of energy and hilarious. There’s a naughty twinkle in his eyes but his act is warm, personal and inoffensive.
The EDI JOHNSTON Bit is an award winning Ukulele Playing Musical Comedian from Nottingham. He writes all kinds of songs (Long AND Short) about the trials and tribulations of a middle-aged, ginger, tea-drinking, comfortable shoe-wearing, sport following, hiphop loving rapper & singer/songwriter. With nods to Morecambe & Wise, Victoria Wood, Bill Bailey & Tim Vine, The EJB shares his particular view on life growing up from child to parenthood within modern day UK through the oft maligned art of Ukulele Rap Musical Comedy. He’s been featured on Channel 5 and BBC Radio and won the Musical Comedy Song Contest in 2022 (SITKOL Awards). If you fancy having someone sing songs about Jaffa Cakes, Monopoly, Taxidermy & Gingers – look no further!
Winner of the BBC Radio Entertainment Contract Writer Titheridge Prize, PAUL KERENSA writes and on each series of Lee Mack’s sitcom Not Going Out, among other shows. He won the ITV Take the Mike Award in 2002 and has been described as “Ing enious” by the Evening Standard and “****ing funny” by Ricky Gervais. Paul is also one of the few to perform stand-up at both comedy clubs and churches, in bearpits and pulpits, as well as contributing regular “Pause For Thought” slots on Chris Evans’ Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
This family friendly treat brings an amazing night of professional hilarity, complete with sing-a-long carols on the big screen, general joyous fun and seasonal snacks and drinks! This is the original and best of this bizarrely popular festive hybrid of a comedy show and a carol service.
