Woodland Walk With The Warden

May 22 @ 10:00 - 12:00

Collyweston Great Wood,
National Nature Reserve

Wednesday 22nd May 10:00 -12:00

This special woodland lies alongside the A47 trunk road linking Peterborough to Leicester and most who drive along the road will have little idea of the natural treasures that they are passing. This is one of England’s National Nature Reserves and normally a special permit from Natural England is needed to visit the wood.

This is a very rare opportunity to visit the wood and be shown around by Tim Starsmore-Sutton, the reserve manager. At this time in May the wood will be looking quite exceptional with a mass of flowers and special trees.  We will stroll for a little over a mile along grassy paths that are fairly level.

This is a free event but numbers are limited and you will need to book by email so that we can contact you just before the walk to confirm all the details.

It is one of a series of events being promoted by Rockingham Forest Vision – please follow this link for details and booking   https://www.rockinghamforest.org.uk/events
