DESCRIPTION:Thursday 9th July – Tuesday 4th August 2026 \n‘Drawn from the Wild’ brings together a selection of work by Cate Kutas\, reflecting a close observation of the natural world and a deep appreciation for the diversity of animal life. \n​Born in Leicestershire and based in Northamptonshire\, Cate is a self-taught wildlife artist specialising in soft pastel and graphite. A member of the Association of Animal Artists\, her work encapsulates the balance of strength and vulnerability in the animal kingdom. \nThe work will be displayed alongside the gallery’s permanent collection of watercolour paintings from Northampton’s Shoosmith family\, including the celebrated Thurston Laidlaw Shoosmith (1865 – 1933). \nThe gallery will also be holding ‘meet the artist’ days on Saturday 18th July and Saturday 1st August. Cate will demonstrating her techniques and offering visitors an opportunity to chat and learn more about her process. \nThe exhibition runs from Thursday 9th July to Tuesday 4th August at The Shoosmith Gallery\, Delapré Abbey\, Northampton\, NN4 8AW. \nArtworks will be available for purchase. \nAdmission and parking are free. \nOpening times: Tuesday – Friday: 10am – 4pm\nSaturday: 11am – 4pm.

DESCRIPTION:Northants Board Game Convention returns for 2026! \nThe third NorbCon will take place over two days – Friday 31st July and Saturday 1st August at Kettering Arts Centre.\nThere will be two 5-hour sessions each day for only £7 per person per session..\nDon’t worry\, if you book both sessions for one day\, you don’t need to leave between the sessions! \nWe are bringing together board gamers from across the county in this fun social gaming experience. \nThere will be hundreds of games to play on the day from the Boards of Kettering CIC board game library; attendees can bring their own to play too. There will be demonstrations of games to learn how to play\, vendors selling board game-related wares\, a Bring and Buy section for pre-used games\, and competitions\, tournaments and a raffle. \nWe are inviting budding game creators who want to play-test their game designs. \nFor those with sensory differences\, there will also be quiet and less crowded rooms for those who need a peaceful place to play. \nKettering Arts Centre has its own licensed bar\, and there will be delicious food vendors too. \nThe event is organised by Boards of Kettering CIC\, a not-for-profit organisation formed by Dez Dell\, Polly Shackleton\, Doug Mayer and Gary Keller\, who are all avid fans of board games.
