The benefits of spending time in nature are well known and combining that with a walk and getting to know and spend time with your own alpaca is a real boost for our wellbeing. \n\nOn arrival we’ll introduce you to our herd (each with their own unique personality!) and share some information about alpacas and how we take care of them.​ We’ll also share some health and safety guidance and tips on handling and leading respectfully. \nWe will then match you to the most suitable alpaca for you and after a brief introduction to your alpaca in terms of name\, personality and particular quirks\, we’ll be off! \nWe’ll take them on a walk around our 28 acres of land exploring tracks that meander through our newly planted woodlands and around the open wetlands. \nWe’ll then head down to The Hideout to wash our hands and use facilities before heading off.

The past comes to life in a leisurely walk beginning at 2.30pm at the Village Hall\, then on to the atmospheric Church of St Mary the Virgin. In the Hall\, en route and in the Church\, meet famous and infamous characters linked to Grafton\, in costume\, including Elizabeth Woodville\, the White Queen\, and other Woodvilles\, Richard III\, Henry VIII and some of his wives\, Cardinal Wolsey\, and Elizabeth I. You’ll also hear the tragic story of Lady Crane\, the tenant of Grafton House (formerly Henry VIII’s palace) when it was destroyed during a Civil War siege; an account of the mystery of the Grafton Portrait (the earliest likeness of Shakespeare?); and why members of the FitzRoy family\, Dukes of Grafton\, are commemorated in the Church. And then back to the Hall for tea and cakes.\nBooking is essential. The cost is £11.50 per head\, including refreshments\, for adults; £5.00 for under 16s; and under 5s free. DESCRIPTION:Extended to two days after the success of last year’s inaugural event! \nInspired by the incredible makers\, artisans and designers across the county and surrounding areas\, Lamport Hall will be hosting a Maker’s Market and Food Festival on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May\, 10am-4pm. \nThere will be over 80 handpicked and carefully curated stalls selling a wide array of products including soy candles\, handmade stationery\, clay pieces\, recycled sterling silver jewellery\, wheel thrown ceramics\, original artworks\, wooden engraved keepsake boxes\, handcrafted press on nails\, risograph printed cards\, horseshoe nail figures\, folded book art\, fudge\, needlefelted designs\, wax melts\, bespoke wood turned gifts\, resin home decor\, reed diffusers\, padded noticeboards\, felt home decor\, baked goods\, cooking sauces and much\, much more! \nThere will also be street food on offer from The Grumpy German German sausages\, Scrumptious Stacks crumble\, Caked in Coffee bakes and hot drinks\, Loosey Goosey Grill burgers\, Flossbox sweets and candyfloss and Roxy Rara rolled ice-cream. \nThe lovely café selling locally sourced cakes\, sausage rolls and artisan coffee will also be open.. And don’t miss the little gift shop where there will be cards\, gifts and souvenirs. \nPat James – acoustic musician – 2 x 45 minute sets – 11am & 12:30pm – Saturday only. \nAlicia Acoustic – acoustic musician – 2 x 45 minute sets – 11am and 12:30pm – Sunday only. \nFor families\, there will be a variety of free activities including facepainting\, storytelling in the old dairy and a hobby horse course from Hobby Horse Heroes! \nTickets will be available to purchase online and on the day with cash or card.
