DESCRIPTION:An Evening of Ghost Stories \nA one-man performance by Toby Burchell \n“…this horror was bounding like a tiger at his heels\, with blazing eyes and one stringy arm out thrown.” \nJoin Behind the Door Productions for ‘An Evening of 'Ghost Stories’ at Lamport Hall. \nACT 1: In Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story\, ‘The Signalman’\, we follow a railway signalman who keeps watch over a damp\, and gloomy railway cutting. Upon questioning\, he reveals that he has been haunted by spectral warnings of impending train disasters. \nACT 2: In Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s ‘Lot No. 249’\, we follow Abercrombie Smith\, a student who investigates a series of supernatural occurrences linked to his neighbour\, Edward Bellingham. Edward\, an Oxford student\, holds possession of an ancient Egyptian mummy which he appears to have been using to stalk his enemies. \nThis is a candlelit performance taking place in Lamport Hall and will include both a matinee and evening performance. In this one-man performance\, Toby Burchell performs two chilling tales by the finest writers of the ghost story genre. Originally narrated as entertainments for friends\, these are the perfect traditional ghost stories \nBehind the Door Productions was established in 2024 by Toby Burchell.\nToby trained as an actor and worked professionally for many years touring both nationally and internationally. He has also worked extensively with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and Malvern Theatres' Stage Company as an actor\, director and facilitator. \nThe production is 1 hour 20 mins with no interval. \nDoors open at 3pm for a 3:30pm for the matinee and 7pm for a 7:30pm start for the evening performance.
