DESCRIPTION:Deene Park\nMay 3 – May 4\nBook your tickets now \nAbout this event \nDEENE PARK PLUNDERED \n“A noble legacy shaken by the storm of Civil War in Northamptonshire” \nA FULL DAY OF INTERACTIVE HISTORY FOR ALL THE FAMILY 3rd & 4th OF MAY 2026. \nWE INVITE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TO STEP BACK IN HISTORY WITH US \nWatch and experience first-hand\, the thrill and excitement of large musket volleys\, pike engagements\, with drums and colours and the full panoply of the 17th Century. Soldiers and civilians demonstrate life during this turbulent period of history. \nMembers of the Sealed Knot will create a reenactment of fictional encounters between elements of Parliamentary and local Royalist forces with the finale each day being a battle involving hundreds of seventeenth century soldiers with accompanying cannon fire and cavalry charges. \nOur Living History encampment and activities tent will be open throughout the day and will give a close-up portrayal of life in the 17th Century and allow interaction between the public and re-enactors to both entertain and educate. \nThe Society and event organisers will showcase Local and National Heritage in a dedicated Heritage Zone. Visitors can meet heritage organisations\, societies and visitor attractions\, showcasing the county’s rich diversity of history and heritage. The past comes to life in a leisurely walk beginning at 2.30pm at the Village Hall\, then on to the atmospheric Church of St Mary the Virgin. In the Hall\, en route and in the Church\, meet famous and infamous characters linked to Grafton\, in costume\, including Elizabeth Woodville\, the White Queen\, and other Woodvilles\, Richard III\, Henry VIII and some of his wives\, Cardinal Wolsey\, and Elizabeth I. You’ll also hear the tragic story of Lady Crane\, the tenant of Grafton House (formerly Henry VIII’s palace) when it was destroyed during a Civil War siege; an account of the mystery of the Grafton Portrait (the earliest likeness of Shakespeare?); and why members of the FitzRoy family\, Dukes of Grafton\, are commemorated in the Church. And then back to the Hall for tea and cakes.\nBooking is essential. The cost is £11.50 per head\, including refreshments\, for adults; £5.00 for under 16s; and under 5s free. Bigger\, tougher and meaner than ever! \nAfter 3 successful years\, we’re shaking things up with a new four-day format that’ll see drivers racking up the road miles and hammering 3 different tracks across the weekend. It all starts at Santa Pod Raceway on Day 1\, where each driver will lay down their first time of the event before heading out on the road for a 200-mile haul to Elvington in Yorkshire. After a run there on Day 2\, they’ll be back on the road via a set of checkpoints\, and on to Melbourne Raceway\, setting another time here on Day 3. Just when the drivers and the cars think they’ve had enough\, it’s back on the road\, all the way back to Santa Pod Raceway for the final showdown on Day 4. \nFor 2026\, we’re turning up the heat and throwing in some variety by offering a varying track conditions on each day of the event. \nDay 1 – Santa Pod: 1/8 mile\, fully prepped — nice and grippy \nDay 2 – Elvington: 1/4 mile\, unprepped — unpredictable and spicy \nDay 3 – Melbourne: 1/8 mile\, unprepped — hang on tight \nDay 4 – Santa Pod: 1/4 mile\, fully prepped — go for glory \nThat’ll equate to around 600 miles across 4 days\, mixed conditions and zero excuses. \nWe all know Street Eliminator cars are some of the quickest street-legal machines in the UK… but can they survive four days of punishment and still put down big numbers on totally different surfaces or is their Street Weekend crown be about to slip? \nWe’re about to find out\, and it’s going to be absolutely wild!
