DESCRIPTION:Join Cordell on his one day workshop on his Introduction to Portrait Painting Workshop in Oils at Vitreus Art on 23rd May 2026. This workshop is the perfect introduction to portrait painting\, and is ideal for both beginners and painters with some experience. A portrait painting in oils will be produced\, with attention to tone and colour to create a realistic image. The workshop is a very small class size (max 6) offering a very personalised and individual approach to creating your own portrait. Working from a reference photograph and a step by step process\, Cordell will guide you through painting a portrait\, with painting demonstrations and individual tuition. Would you like to learn what is in season that can be foraged safely with a little care\, to supplement your diet? \nCome along to The Red Lion\, Culworth this July to be guided around the local area by Lizzy who will take you on a wander to seek wild edibles that are full of surprising summer flavours! \nWe will be looking for wild fruits\, herbs\, mushrooms and plants that are all around us and teaching you key identification features/preferred habitats to give a good introduction to foraging for your own wild food journey going forwards. \nThere will be a chance to sample afterwards some wild food makes and bakes to demonstrate how easy it can be to incorporate your finds into everyday meals and cooking. \nWe will be covering good foraging practice\, preservation techniques and what species to look out for in the coming months after your foraging session with Lizzy. \nYou may wish to bring a camera\, notepaper\, something to drink as we walk and ensure you have sturdy comfortable footwear/weather appropriate clothing for the wander. \nFully insured. DESCRIPTION:Make the most of the summer views and create your own multi-layered summer-inspired lino print in a one-day artist-led workshop with expert printmaker Alexandra Buckle. \nIn this artist-led workshop\, you will create a multi-layered lino print based on images or photographs that inspire you. \nAlexandra Buckle is a former Royal Academy Exhibitor and Artfinder bestseller. She has exhibited in both Bucks and Oxfordshire Arts Weeks. Many of her pieces are inspired by local woodland areas\, such as Stowe Gardens\, Evenley Wood Garden\, Stoke Woods\, Waddesdon and Claydon. She is particularly drawn to interesting colour combinations and scenes with dramatic light. DESCRIPTION:Join Cordell on his One Day portrait painting workshop which is the perfect introduction to portrait painting in oil paints\, and ideal for both beginners and painters with some experience. A portrait painting in oils will be produced\, with attention to facial proportions\, tonal values and colour to create a realistic portrait. Working from a reference photograph and a step by step process\, Cordell is an experienced painter who will guide you through painting a portrait\, with painting demonstrations and individual tuition. He will also supply a supporting handout\, as part of the workshop\, to explain the techniques involved. You will create a portrait painting that you will be able to take away with you at the end of the day.\nThe price varies depending on whether you are bringing your own materials or whether you wish the tutor to supply all materials.
