About The Shoosmith Gallery

The Shoosmith Gallery is a registered charity, located at historic Delapré Abbey in Northampton. It celebrates the artistic and civic legacy of a local family with two siblings that became well-known for their watercolour paintings produced during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Gallery presents the artists work through exhibitions, educational activities, and community engagement. It is currently fundraising to support two key initiatives: the continued conservation of its collection through museum-grade glazing and picture framing, and the provision of art therapy workshops for community wellbeing.

Delapré Abbey has beautiful green spaces with onsite free parking, step-free access, and a welcoming atmosphere. Visitors can also enjoy the Orangery Café, making it an ideal cultural location to visit in Northampton.

The Shoosmith Gallery also provides a supportive venue for exhibiting visual arts such as paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics for presentation to the public and connect with the local community. They encourage established or aspiring artists to contact them to enquire about booking space for future exhibitions.
