Born in Northern Ireland, Eileen Gascoigne studied Fine Art at the Ulster College of Art and Design, before going on to teach art in Northamptonshire. She was Head of Art at Campion School, Bugbrooke, and a lecturer in Art and Design at Daventry Tertiary College. Upon retiring she became a full-time artist, exhibiting her work locally and further afield.

Embracing a lifelong passion for watercolour, Gascoigne uses a wet-in-wet technique that "allows colour the freedom to seek its own path". Her paintings focus on light, atmosphere and landscape, often inspired by the Irish coastline.

Serendipity brings together a selection of recent work, shaped as much by observation as by the natural movement of water and pigment.

Entry to the exhibition is free, with works available for purchase.
