Annual talent celebration in Brackley's town centre

Brackley's talent grabbed a piazza of the action at the town's annual celebration.

It was a beautiful day with a good attendance, many spectators bringing their own chairs into the town centre and the event even attracted shoppers and visitors to stop and stay for a while.

The event has been going since the early 2000s and has progressed from a competition to an open display of Brackley’s talent on The Piazza located outside Brackley Town Hall.

There were several acts in the line-up with interval entertainment from Keith Fraser, who recited poetry, jokes and entertaining stories between the acts, and background music was supplied by Bernie Tiller.

The talent show was well received by businesses and those who attended some stating it created a great community feel and village-like atmosphere.

George and Mel at the Red Lion said: "Having recently taken over The Red Lion, we love looking out over the market square to see it buzzing with local markets and events.

"It brings so much life to the town and brings the community together - exactly what the square is meant for! It’s great for local businesses and great for Brackley”.

Brackley Mayor Councillor Kew visited the event and said a few words.

The event was sponsored by The Crown Hotel and Chilli & Pepper, in partnership with Brackley Town Council and West Northamptonshire Council.
