384th Bombardment Group Museum Open Day, RAF Grafton Underwood

October 17 @ 00:00

Step back into the living history of the 384th Bomb Group at Grafton Underwood. Join us for our latest Museum Open Day, where the stories of the airmen who flew from this Northamptonshire airfield come vividly to life.

Explore original wartime artefacts, exhibits and personal accounts that reveal the courage, routine, and sacrifice behind every mission. Discover the history of the former airfield and how it affected the local population. Take the short walk into the historic Grafton Park Wood to discover the sites of former airfield buildings.

Our volunteers will be on hand to guide you through the exhibits, share new research, and answer questions about the base’s role in the air war over Europe during World War 2.

Whether you’re a local resident, a history enthusiast, or discovering the 384th for the first time, the museum offers a powerful and accessible window into the past. Come walk the ground they once walked — and keep their memory flying.

Sited just outside the village of Grafton Underwood on the Brigstock Road. Open from 10am to 3pm with parking on site. Entry is free, donations gratefully accepted.
