About Northampton Rowing Club
NRC is a small friendly club affiliated to British Rowing and are based on a 3km stretch of the River Nene. In 2009 they completed the first stage of replacing an ageing boat store with a new facility. The new boathouse provides storage for the coaching launches and a full variety of boats ranging from single sculls to eights. In 2014 the second stage of the project began with a first floor being added, allowing them to offer improved facilities including a gym and a club house.
Some facilities are shared with Northampton Active which is also home to the Northampton Canoe and Kayak Club. Within the centre are full changing and showering facilities and a café.
Although they are a small club, we are active all year round with races, events and social activities. They have a varied membership with some members having competed at national events such as Henley Royal Regatta, Henley Women’s Regatta, The National Schools Regatta and The National Rowing Championships of Great Britain.
