About Rushden Walking Pictorial Tours

Duration: Approximately 2.5 Hours
Distance: Approximately 4 Miles

On behalf of the Rushden Rotary Club, this walking pictorial tour will take you through the history of Rushden’s Boot and Shoe Industry through the years, along with some general history about the town.
With the aid of old pictures and photographs, Prospero will take you back in time as you walk around the centre of Rushden town, explaining the rise and fall of the boot & shoe industry and the associated businesses. He will talk about many iconic buildings and the impact both World Wars had on both the town and the industries.

Prospero will use a few props to explain some of the more interesting facts about the town and hopefully give you a better understanding of the beautiful town we know as Rushden. The starting point is outside Home Suite Home (next to Asda Petrol Station) on Higham Road, Rushden. The walk will also finish here.
