About Sunshine Sistas Netball

Established in January 2025, this remarkable netball club is the brainchild of Angela, a passionate volunteer coach who partnered with the Wellingborough African Caribbean Association (WACA). Their shared objective is to promote health and well-being in the Afro-Caribbean female community. Together, they’ve grown weekly Friday training sessions into a thriving community of 40 members, predominantly mature women of Afro-Caribbean heritage.

What makes Team Sunshine Sistas special is their powerful message: sport is about sisterhood, friendship, and belonging, not just ability.

The club, based in Wellingborough, welcomes women from the Afro-Caribbean community, regardless of their experience or fitness level. Their approach means everyone participates at their own comfort level, and with growing interest, the club is encouraging new players to join.

If you’re a woman from the Afro-Caribbean community seeking friendship, fitness, and fun through sports, Team Sunshine Sistas would love to hear from you. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, there’s a place for you in this welcoming community.
