Wellingborough Town Football Club play at Victoria Mill, London Road, Wellingborough. Nicknamed the “Doughboys” (deriving from the traditional local dish of “Hock & Dough”), Wellingborough Town FC is currently a member of the Spartan South Midlands League Division One. Wellingborough’s most famous former player is Phil Neal, who started his career at the Town before moving to Northampton, and then to Liverpool (where he spent seven years!).
Wellingborough is also a Charter Standard Development club that runs mini soccer and youth football for boys’ and girls’ teams . The purpose of Wellingborough Town Youth Section is for boys and girls to have fun playing football, develop their football skills and progress into senior football within the Wellingborough Town Under 18, Reserve and First Teams.
