Discover the Story Behind Billing Aquadrome
To celebrate English Tourism Week, member of the Discover Northamptonshire Team, Evie, has been catching up with some of Northamptonshire’s most loved destinations!
In this blog, she’s been speaking with Bex, Holidays Marketing Manager at Billing Aquadrome and discussing what’s new, what’s coming, and what makes this place so special.
Evie: Let’s start at the beginning. How did this new era at Billing Aquadrome come about?
Bex: Meadow Bay acquired Billing Aquadrome in 2024, and since then we’ve been on a mission to bring fresh energy, new experiences, and a renewed sense of magic to the park. The natural beauty has always been the heart of the place — we’re simply building on that and reimagining what a modern family holiday park can be.
Evie: One thing people always mention when they talking about Billing Aquadrome is the entertainment on offer. For those who haven’t visited before, what can they expect?
Bex: Fun that doesn’t cost extra! We offer a full programme of free family entertainment every single day. Think interactive games, creative workshops, our Aqua Park assault course, live music, themed nights, and seasonal celebrations. Whether it’s toddlers burning off energy or adults rediscovering their playful side, there’s always something happening.
Evie: What a super unique offering, would you say that’s what sets you apart from other parks?
Bex: Not just that - we’re community‑first. It feels like a friendly village with fantastic facilities. Entertainment is included, there’s something for every type of visitor, and we’re constantly investing in new experiences while honouring the memories generations already cherish.
Evie: We heard you’ve had some exciting recognitions recently…
Bex: We have! Meadow Bay Villages took home two British Travel Awards, voted for by the public. It’s a huge honour and a reflection of the heart, creativity, and care that goes into every guest experience — including right here at Billing Aquadrome. We also picked up a Highly Commended award at the recent Northamptonshire Tourism Business Awards in the Camping, Glamping, and Holiday Park of the Year category!
Evie: How exciting! What can visitors look forward to next?
Bex: Lots! We’re opening a brand‑new indoor entertainment venue, adding new food offerings, bringing back the much‑loved Summer Cyclone (bigger and better), and reintroducing family camping. It’s shaping up to be an incredible year.
Evie: Wow – SO much on the horizon… and I’m sure many will be excited to hear about the return of family camping.
Bex: Absolutely, we genuinely listen to guest feedback — and act on it. The return of camping and the new indoor venue are direct results of what our guests asked for.
Evie: That’s fantastic to hear. What’s the one thing you find visitors always rave about?
Bex: The Summer Cyclone! It’s a full‑on event that becomes the highlight of the holiday.
Evie: Sounds so much fun. And your most popular experience?
Bex: Our Alpaca Experience. It’s designed for connection, not just entertainment. Walking an alpaca is surprisingly grounding — like borrowing a cloud with hooves.
Evie: I think amongst the alpacas would be my go-to spot if I worked on site! What’s your favourite spot?
Bex: Sitting by the tranquil Kingfisher Lake. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and a perfect moment of calm.
Evie: Something fun we’ll be asking attractions is: if they had a theme song, what would it be?
Bex: Ours would have to be Happy by Pharrell Williams. It captures the spirit of the park perfectly.
Evie: That sums you guys up so well. Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Bex: Just that we’re proud to be part of Northamptonshire’s tourism story. We love collaborating locally and we’re excited for everything still to come. Here’s to a fantastic English Tourism Week! To celebrate, we’re offering 10% off holidays when booked during English Tourism Week using code: DISCOVER10.
