Discover the historic and current structures on Borough Hill in Daventry Museum’s Echoes of Daventry Calling exhibition, celebrating 100 years of broadcasting. Themed activities include paper house making, talks about Borough Hill and vintage bus rides.
The architectural history of Borough Hill, Daventry dates back to its days as an Iron-age Hill Fort and most recently as the site of BBC Broadcasting station’s 5XX and Empire buildings. Daventry Museum will be open from 10am to 4pm.
Photographs from the 1920s to date will be on display, including the dismantling of the 152 metre tall masts in the 1990s. There will also be a short talk about the architecture of the hill throughout history at 11am. Special activities will be available to enjoy, all themed around architecture and the Echoes of Daventry Calling exhibition.
PLUS the town is hosting the annual Foodies market. It’s a full day of fun and exploration, come and join!
