In this hands-on clay workshop with tutor Sophie Pennington, we’ll explore the beauty of natural forms and use them as inspiration for drawing and developing original ideas. We’ll begin by observing a variety of natural objects such as shells, seed pods, and leaves; and then create a series of 2D and 3D drawings, focusing on shape, structure, and form.
As the session progresses, we’ll use these studies to guide the creation of our own organic-inspired ceramic sculptures. We’ll be looking at artists whose work draws from nature, using their approaches as inspiration to encourage your own imaginative and personal response in clay.
“Well organised, enjoyable and instructive, thanks to Sophie!” — Josephine Evans.
