Shoetown festival coming to Northampton in 2027!
Local shoemaker Crown hope that the celebration will become an annual event

Do you know your cobblers from your cordwainers?
A cobbler repairs shoes, a cordwainer makes them.
You might not have known that, you might also not know what Northamptonshire - and the county town Northampton in particular - is world famous for its quality boot and shoe manufacture.
The county has a boot and shoe history heritage which is unrivalled but we have never really shouted about it.
Crown, the inspiration behind the Shoetown idea, Church's, Crockett & Jones, Edward Green, Jeffery West and Trickers all still have a significant presence in the town.
John Lobb is investing in a planned expansion, Barker's, Cheaney, DB Shoes, NPS, Grensons and Loake - and many others - fly the flag elsewhere in the county.
So it is high time to recognise Northampton's unique selling point - its fabulous boot and shoe manufacturers, its wonderful history and heritage, its uplifting community spirit. Watch this space!
