Holy Sepulchre Church Open Day

Step Into Over 900 Years of History – Open Day at Holy Sepulchre Church, Northampton
Discover one of Northampton’s most remarkable historic treasures at our special open day at the Holy Sepulchre Church.
Built in 1100 AD by Simon de Senlis, the first Earl of Northampton, this extraordinary Crusader church was inspired by the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Created as an act of gratitude for his safe return from the First Crusade, it stands today as a powerful link to a fascinating chapter of medieval history.
The Holy Sepulchre is one of only four surviving round churches in the UK—and the oldest and largest of them all—making it a truly unique place to explore.
Join us to uncover over 900 years of stories. Learn about the people who shaped its past, admire its distinctive Norman architecture, and experience the atmosphere of a building that has stood at the heart of Northampton for centuries.
Whether you’re a history enthusiast, architecture lover, or simply curious, we warmly welcome you to come in, explore, and be inspired.
